Are you a budding creative filmmaker aged 25 or under? Do you want the opportunity to have your work launch the biggest awards night in the recruitment marketing industry? Here’s a chance to have your film funded and seen by some of the top people in the media industry.

The annual RAD Awards celebrate the highest creative quality and achievement in recruitment communications. They are held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, London and attended by all of the top agencies and employers in the field. It is the best night of the year for the industry, the Oscars if you like.

Casual Films are hosting a competition for filmmakers aged 25 years and under in celebration of 25 years of the RAD Awards. For the past two years Casual Films have produced the opening film for the ceremony, (see examples above and below), but this year we have decided to hand it over to you!

Attended by all of the top agencies and employers in the field. It is the best night of the year for the industry, the Oscars if you like. Enter your pitch by 24th October 2014 based on the theme ‘"Finding the right use for your greatness". The top five entries will be invited into Casual Films HQ to pitch their idea to top industry players who will then make a decision upon the overall winner. The five runners up will receive £100 and critical feedback on their treatment, and the winner will receive £1000 to make their 60 second film, along with production support and £500 for their next project. They will also be invited to the Awards night to see their film launch the event in front of 1,200 of the top people in the industry.

THEME:

What if Isaac Newton had been a fruit picker, Florence Nightingale a milkmaid or Leonardo da Vinci a cart driver? What if all the people who have got us to where humanity are today had been doing a different job? If you think about it like that you can start to see the importance of getting the right people in the right roles.

Great people are everywhere, but some may not have found their greatness yet. Or they may know it, but they haven’t had the chance to use it yet. The RAD’s celebrate the creative ways in which the recruitment advertising industry design methods to attract the best and the brightest people and help them put their greatness to use.

We want you to make a film around the subject of: "Finding the right use for your greatness" The gloves are off creatively. We want to see how far you can push it. The RAD awards celebrate the best in creativity the industry offers and we want to see what you can do. It could be drama or stop-frame, animation or live-action. We want to be blown out of the water by your ideas and filmmaking ability.

You have to be under 25 or under to enter, be able to attend the film shoot in London, and the awards ceremony on Park Lane in January. There are no other stipulations as to nationality, university etc.
