The students with tutor (Dian Perry) at Casual Films, Islington

The Drama, Dance & Speech department went off campus at the end of June for its brand new offering Voice Acting for Animation.  The first day of this exciting weekend workshop was held at City Lit, but the second was conducted at Casual Films – a young and innovative film company located in North London.

The course tutor, Dian Perry, had a vision to ‘…give the students an introduction to the skills necessary to work in animation and the chance to experience what it’s like to work in a professional London studio.’  The students even had the opportunity to lip-sync to a pre-animated scene and have a go at improvising an animated scene involving a cat and a giant fur ball (the less said about that, the better).

Enormous thanks to Casual Films for the use of their studio and for lending us their crack engineer and filmmaker, Adam Ruddick.  Visit to view their showreel.

A 6 week course on Voice Acting for Animation is scheduled for February/March 2015.
