ASDA were looking to move their hourly paid recruitment of around 40,000 employees per year online in an effort to reduce administration costs and time.

As part of this move online, we were asked to create an interactive piece for ASDA’s new recruitment site that would give potential employees a clear impression of what it’s like to work in the many different roles at the supermarket.

Twice a day employees across the organisation gather around in a group, called a ‘huddle’ where information is shared up and down the company structure - inherited from the supermarket’s parent company Walmart.

We used a Flash carousel based on a ‘huddle’ to enable visitors to select different employee profiles to watch.

We also produced a 3D store and depot so the site visitors can have a look at their potential place of work including rollovers of information that, when clicked, launch a 360 ? photograph that can be navigated. Users can then explore that video profiles of the people that work in the different areas of the store.

The site saved ASDA over £2.6 million in the 6 months post launch.
The website achieved 6000 unique hits per day and there were 30,000 views of the video during September 2010 alone.
